    Hike NS Annual Hiking Summit

    About the Summit A celebration of hiking culture, the 2018 Hiking Summit will take place in Ingonish, Cape Breton on May 11, 12 and 13. Hike NS and its co-hosts Naturally Active Victoria County, Parks Canada and the Keltic Lodge at the Highlands invite you to join them. Presenting sponsor is The Trail Shop and Platinum sponsor is Victoria County. Gold sponsors are Parks Canada and Destination Cape Breton. Silver sponsors are Cape Breton University - Sport and Physical Activity Leadership; the NS Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage; Clif Bar, and Big Spruce Brewing. Bronze sponsor is the Ingonish Development Society. The guys from A for Adventure will be our MCs and the keynote speaker is David Miller, author of AWOL on the Appalachian Trail and The A.T. Guide. This event is now sold out.

    Annual Lobster Supper

    Annual Lobster Supper—Saturday, 26 May at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, North River Bridge. Take out starting at 3:00 pm, eat in at 5:00 pm. $25.00 one lobster, second lobster $10.00. Turkey dinner also available $10.00. All meals served with potato salad, coleslaw, roll and dessert. Board members have tickets or you can call 902.929.2334, 902.929.2558 or 902.929.2205.

    Cabot Trail Relay Race

    The annual Cabot Trail Relay Race is a 185 mile/276.33 km, 17 stage relay race through some of the most beautiful scenery in the world… beginning in Baddeck, Cape Breton, over steep mountains in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, through many small communities around the famous Cabot Trail, to the gently rolling Margaree Valley. 70 teams of 17 runners each plus support crew will be participating in this year's event. It is sold out.

    Cathy Ann MacPhee in concert with Shelly Campbell and Joanne MacIntyre

    Join us for a special afternoon of Gaelic song and music with one of Gaelic Scotland’s favourite voices. Cathy Ann MacPhee has treated audiences all over the world to traditional Gaelic songs from the Isle of Barra and Gaelic Scotland. Joining Cathy Ann are well known Cape Breton Gaelic performers - traditional fiddler Shelly Campbell from West Bay Road and Mabou Coal Mines Gaelic singer Joanne MacIntyre. The concert takes place in the historic Malagawatch Church at Baile nan Gàidheal | Highland Village. Date: May 27th, 2018 at 2:00pm Tickets: $25.00 Advanced or $28.00 at the door. For tickets phone (902) 725-2272. The concert is a fundraiser for the Highland Village site development project.
